Top 10 Best Bureaus and Platforms to Hire Househelps in Kenya

Hiring a househelp in Kenya is one of the most consequential decisions a family makes. Here's an honest review of every option available.

1. Konnect (Best Overall — Launching October 24, 2026)

Kenya's first fully digital, on-demand local platform. National ID verification, criminal background checks, GPS-based matching, M-Pesa payments, and real client reviews.

2. Word of Mouth

Reliable but limited to your personal network with no accountability system.

3. Local Domestic Worker Bureaus

Physical bureaus with some pre-screening. Quality varies enormously. Usually cash-based with no digital trail.

4. Facebook Groups

Zero vetting. High risk. Avoid for in-home sensitive roles.

5. Classified Sites (OLX, PigiaMe)

Good for volume but no verification. Always verify ID yourself before proceeding.
